Additional Tips for Migraines and Headaches:
- Drink MORE Water - often a headache/migraine is a sign of dehydration. This can occur especially if your body is releasing toxins (like excessive alcohol the night before or too much sugar).
- Meditate and get to your HAPPY place. Stress is a BIG contributor to migraines and headaches. Our jaws clench, shoulders come up and become tense, not to mention the worry that circles around and around in our mind.
- Take a warm bath with at least 2 cups of Epsom salts. Drink plenty of water while soaking. Use a clay mask to relax and draw out impurities. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil to the water. Put on some lovely calming music or sounds.
- Alternate a cold compress to the back of your neck for 10 minutes and then a hot cloth to your temples for 10 minutes.
- Put down electronics. Don't watch t.v. Stop reading. Place yourself in a dark location and close your eyes. Even if you just have to lock yourself in the bathroom for 10 minutes...
